Tuesday 9/6/11
Sam had his first day of pre-k today! I think this is the closest I’ve ever seen him to being excited. He didn’t say he was, and didn’t smile, but I knew he was excited, as long as the wolf wouldn’t be there (darn mascot! what kind of elementary school has a scary wolf for a mascot!?)
When we got to school for the drop, Ms. Jones told all the children to get in a line, they were going to be like a choo-choo train to walk to the classroom. The TA got in the back of the line and said, “I’m the caboose”, Sam was somewhere in the middle of the line and said “I’m the coal car!” Ms. Jones said, “okay, you’re the coal car” and off they chugged to the first day of the rest of his years of formal education, my little coal car.
So proud.
