We’re at goodwill. Two girls older than Sam are there and goes over & starts talking to them. He shows them his ping pong paddles “guiding sticks” and says
S: here you can have a turn, they’re mine but I’ll share them with you, you can have a turn (and gently pushes the paddles to her chest, she takes them reluctantly).
The girls tell Sam they have a Spider-Man lego guy & shows him to him.
S: I see, cool, can I please have a turn?
Girls: sure (& hands it to Sam)
S: thanks
They continue this banter & when it’s time to leave…
S: okay girls thanks see you later. Our address is 629 hunting fields…
T: Sam we don’t just tell people we just met our address.
S:but I want them to come over & play. I want to make new friends. I really wanna have new friends mom! (Starts to pinch the bridge of his nose & tears up)
T: oh Sam honey I know you do and you will have friends I promise, you’re going to have lots of friends because you’re such a good person.
S: okay
